The 2012 ASTI Diary refers to two separate salary scales “Pre 2011” and “Post 2011”.

 

The “Pre 2011” Salary Scale is applicable to all teachers who entered service prior to January 1 2011.

 

The “Post 2011” Salary Scale is applicable to all teachers who entered service since January 1 2011.

 

BUDGET 2012 changes:

The 2012 ASTI Diary was printed before Budget 2012 was announced. This means that changes to qualification allowances are not included. Changes to qualification allowances do not affect allowances being paid at present to existing teachers. However, teachers will not be paid any additional allowance if they acquire any further qualification. In addition, for newly appointed teachers, the maximum amount payable in qualification allowances cannot exceed the amount payable for an honours degree (€4,426).
