ASTI - Ireland's main second level teachers union

This Act was passed into law in July 2003. Following intensive negotiations between the ASTI, the Department of Education and Science and the management bodies, the Implementation Agreement – Circular 0034/2009 – was agreed. Temporary/ fixed-term teachers are entitled to no less favourable treatment that their permanent colleagues in terms of pay, pension, promotion posts and general conditions of employment.
