New disciplinary procedures were implemented in the 2009/ 2010 school year across all school sectors – voluntary secondary schools and community and comprehensive schools and colleges. The ASTI wishes to state categorically to all members that the new procedures are in accordance with the principles of natural justice and fairness.

The procedures provide for a fair hearing, facilitate unbiased judgement and provide for appeal.
