Department circular letter 13/02 sets out the appeals process to be used in appeals in both Greenfield Community Colleges and amalgamated Community Colleges and replaces the appeals processes negotiated with individual VECs in cases of amalgamations.

Appeals can only be made on the following grounds:

  • Agreed criteria and marking schemes were not applied in accordance with paragraphs 3 and 4 of circular letter PPT13/02

and / or

  • Marks for service to the school were incorrectly calculated. 

The appeal must be submitted to the Vocational Education Committee within 14 days of date of notification of Selection Board’s recommendation.
