A wholetime permanent teacher wishing to resign should so advise the school manager three months prior to the end of the school term. Notice must be given in writing.
Teachers on temporary contracts who are taking up employment on a continuous or probationary basis in another school should give one months notice at a minimum.
Under the Workers’ Protection (Regular Part-time Employees) Act, a minimum of one weeks notice applies to part-time teachers.
