The first digital-only edition of ASTIR has been emailed to members and is also available to view here.
This issue contains many timely articles, including an article by Prof. Ciaran O’Boyle, Director of the RCSI Centre for Positive Psychology and Health, with some excellent advice for getting through the current crisis, as well as an article exploring what lessons teachers and other experts feel we are learning from the pandemic.
The May issue of ASTIR also contains updates on the calculated grades for Leaving Cert 2020 process, a report on the inclusion of people with disabilities during the pandemic, the results of a recent ASTI survey on ICT equipment in second-level schools, and more.
ASTI President Deirdre Mac Donald, in her editorial, states that there has never been a more important time for teachers to be part of a collective. In order to safeguard teachers’ safety and mental health we must maximise our strength by encouraging our ASTI colleagues to engage with their union and by asking non-union members to join the ASTI.
