Who are we?

ASTI Structure

The ASTI is a democratic association, organised in branches determined by geographical region.

Each school is affiliated to a branch. At present, there are 56 branches in the country. If the ASTI is to fairly reflect your views, you should get involved in your local branch by attending its meetings, expressing your point of view and listening to the views of others.

Each branch elects members to the Central Executive Council (CEC) and delegates to the Annual Convention. CEC normally meets twice a year and is the governing body of the ASTI when Annual Convention is not in session.

Branches are organised into regions, and each region elects a representative to sit on ASTI Standing Committee, which meets on a monthly basis and looks after the business of the union when neither CEC nor Convention is in session.
