The ASTI has been actively participating in the National Pay Talks which are adjourned for the bank holiday weekend. We have sought to have our key issues advanced at every opportunity. These include equal pay for equal work, full pay restoration, an end to unremunerated additional working hours, accelerated abolition of the Pension Related Deductions and pension parity restoration.
Progress has been extraordinarily slow, but is expected to intensify next week. Concrete proposals from management on the key issues are still awaited. Whether an agreement can be achieved remains to be seen.
ASTI will continue to engage as the talks approach their most critical phase and conclusion.
