As part of its commitment in Senior Cycle Redevelopment Implementation Support Measures, the Department of Education and Youth has established an AI in Schools External Advisory Taskforce.

ASTI President Elect Richie Bell represents the ASTI on this Taskforce which includes representatives from all of the education stakeholders.

The Taskforce will examine the evolving implications of AI for teaching, learning and assessment and will inform ongoing policy developments.

To support the work of the Taskforce, two thematic working groups are being established as part of the first Phase of the Taskforce’s work. These working groups will be aligned to:

  • Assessment (summative and State-certified)
  • Teaching, learning and formative assessment

The ASTI is seeking applications from members who are interesting in serving as an ASTI nominee on these working groups.

The Department of Education and Youth is currently considering the feedback provided by members of the Taskforce on the draft Terms of Reference. Once finalised, the Terms of Reference will be made available on gov.ie and asti.ie.

Interested members should apply to the General Secretary by outlining their suitability on an A4 page. Applications must reach ASTI Head Office before 5.30p.m. on Friday, August 21st.

Applications should be sent to:

Address: ASTI General Secretary, ASTI, Thomas MacDonagh House, Winetavern Street, Dublin 8, D08 P9V6

or

Decisions on ASTI representation on the working groups will rest with ASTI Standing Committee.
