Training for Health & Safety Representatives

The ASTI intends to keep up the focus on improving teachers’ Health, Safety and Welfare at work.

Employers must ensure that Safety Representatives know and understand their role. They must provide the selected Safety Representative with the training to carry out the role. A 2021 Primary Illness Overview by Medmark, the occupational healthcare provider for the DOE and hence all post-primary teachers in Ireland lists ‘Mental Health / Stress’ as representing 40% of all reported illness.

School Health & Safety Representatives are invited to attend in-person training on Tuesday 27th February from 10.30am to 3pm in ASTI Head Office.

The in-person training will be delivered by Educational Consultant/Health and Safety Advisor Shay Bannon.

Please note that substitution, travel expenses and lunch will be provided by the ASTI.
