The ASTI is holding a protest outside Dáil Éireann this Thursday, October 13th at 5 p.m. to highlight the fact that recently qualified teachers are on inferior pay scales.
ASTI teachers are currently on three different pay scales, depending on when they entered teaching. New and recently qualified ASTI teachers are on starting salaries which are 20% below the 2010 teachers’ starting salary.
The protest will be attended by new and recently qualified teachers, and their teacher colleagues, from schools in the Dublin area.
