ASTI responds to Government report on pay equalisation

The ASTI notes the publication today of the report on pay equalisation from the Department of Public Expenditure and Reform. The union said it is essential that the talks begin immediately in order to ensure that pay equalisation can be implemented in a short time frame.

ASTI / INTO / TUI - Joint Union Statement - Pay inequality damaging education, say teacher union leaders

A demonstration by the three teacher unions at the Dáil has called for publication of a report on Pay Inequality, required under the recent Public Service Pay and Pensions Act, to kick start the process of restoring pay equality. Teachers who qualified since 2011 have already lost up to €30,000 each due to their reduced pay rates.
